Becoming A Backyard Naturalist

Location: TBD - check website below.

Enrich your summer by developing your naturalist skills at home this spring. Our program is filled with inspiring activities you can begin enjoying today! Make the most of these cold, rainy months by enhancing your ability to observe and understand our natural world by exploring your backyard and local neighborhood. You will leave with many hands-on activities you can start today and then expand on for years to come. Remember, what we do at home will help our wildlife, environment and our beloved Fort Flagler State Park.

Presenter: Erica Forrest is the founder of the travel education company, Trip Scholars. With her background as a former Beach Naturalist with the Seattle Aquarium, high school science teacher, Director of Hawaii Montessori Schools, and as travel education specialist, Erica excels at expanding people’s excitement for travel into deeper understanding and joyful discovery. Erica has been a local NPR guest and published on over 55 travel sites.
