Elwha River Planting at former Lake Aldwell

Volunteers Needed - Elwha River Planting

Join our partner, the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe, to plant 800 trees and shrubs along the Elwha River throughout the former Lake Aldwell reservoir. This planting will help restore native vegetation still being established following removal of the Lower Elwha Dam in 2011.

LOCATION: Lake Aldwell Road in west Port Angeles (specific parking details will be sent prior to the event)

DATE/TIME: February 28 (Wednesday) from 9:30AM to 12:30PM

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • Waterproof boots with good traction are recommended.

  • Some planting tools will be available for use, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own if available.

  • Volunteers should also plan to bring gloves, raingear, water and snacks.

  • REGISTRATION is REQUIRED as space is limited.
