Beginning in a bigleaf maple forest, hike 3 miles on a gradual uphill trail through forested second growth to old growth forest to the lovely 55-acre Lower Lena Lake. (Trailhead at 650'; lake at 1900', total hiking about 7 miles). We’ll pass a number of waterfalls and streams, erratic boulders, firs and yews, flowering small plants, and of course many summer flowering plants displaying their fruits.
We will meet at the trailhead, 7.5 miles up the Hamma Hamma River Road from Hwy. 101at 10 am. Bring a lunch, camera/phone, field guides and dress for the weather.
