Planting on the Quillayute River

Volunteers are needed to help the Quileute Tribe and Clallam Conservation District staff plant conifer trees and secure plant protectors along the Quillayute River in Forks. The Quileute Tribe will also speak on past, present and future restoration projects in the Quillayute River system being implemented to help with salmon recovery. This riparian planting will help keep water temperatures cooler during the summer months, as well as provide long-term woody debris which is important for fish habitat. More info here.
